NAMPA — Services for Mrs. Maisie Mabel Ahrens, 83, of the Golden Glow Apartments, who died Sunday in a Nampa nursing home after an extended illness, will be conducted at the Alsip Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Frank Marler, pastor emeritus of the First Christian Church. Colfax Rebekah Lodge No. 24 will conduct rites at the chapel. Interment will be at Cloverdale, near Boise.
Mrs. Ahrens was born Dec. 30, 1890, at Rose Hill, Iowa, and was reared in Nebraska and Kansas. She married Ralph Ahrens at Beloit, Kan., June 18, 1913, and they observed their sixtieth wedding anniversary last June. They lived in California for over four years, returned to Mankato, Kan., where they farmed until they moved to Nampa in 1929. They farmed on Karcher Road and in the Lone Star areas until retiring about 13 years ago. They since had lived in Nampa.
She was a member of the First Christian Church and was a past noble grand of Colfax Rebekah Lodge.
Surviving in addition to Mr. Ahrens are a son, Kenneth Ahrens of Nampa; a daughter, Mrs. Hugh (Lucile) Wilkerson of Beaverton, Ore.; five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
