Robert J. Vickers, Sr., 74, husband of Susie Mae Vickers, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center. He was born on June 26, 1943 in Jackson County, Kentucky, the son of the late Bertie Pearson and Preston Vickers. Robert was retired from Texas Instrument. He loved woodworking and building birdhouses. Robert was an avid deer hunter and member of New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Denver Vickers and David Vickers. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Susie Mae Foley Vickers, Versailles, children, Lizsa Vickers Graul, Versailles, Connie (Brian) Cramer, Lawrenceburg, Mary (Matthew) Sims, Versailles, Robert Vickers, Jr., Versailles, Dale (Melanie) Vickers, Versailles, sisters, Dora (Rex) Cox, Jackson County, KY, Della Wilson, Richmond, brother, Delmer Vickers, Connersville, IN, nine grandchildren, Ashli Graul, Leslie Graul, James Clinton Tinsley, Shelby Sims, Zachery Childers, Zabez Saylor, Dylan Saylor, Given Robbins, and Chandler Grider, and five great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Rose Crest Cemetery, Versailles, Kentucky
