Norma May Edwards, of Oklahoma City, passed away November 2, 2017, at the age of 93. She was born July 2, 1924, in Konawa, Oklahoma, to Henry Lee & Sarah Emeline (Rush) Jackson.
Norma enjoyed sewing and quilting. She always made quilts for all of the newborn babies of the people she knew. Norma maintained the family farm after her husband, Jack passed away, until she moved to Oklahoma City to take care of her daughter. She was a proud cancer survivor after 30 years taking some experimental treatments.
Norma is survived by her son, James L. Edwards & wife, Linda; 3 grandchildren, Janet L. White, James L. Edwards, Jr., and Crystal Chambers; 7 great-grandchildren, Zachery White, Kieton White, Carter Edwards, Charlee Edwards, Frankee Edwards, Derrick Croteau, and Wesley Chambers; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henry & Sarah Jackson; her husband, Jack Edwards; daughter, Julia Upton; 6 brothers, Alfred, Alvie, Cecil, Dee, Arthur, and George Jackson; and 1 sister, Beulah Douglas.
Funeral Services for Norma will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 6, 2017, in the chapel of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, located at 120 South Broadway, in Moore, Oklahoma. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, at the Non Cemetery, in Non, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home.
