Actor. Born Trevor Gordon Martin, he was a character actor who was best known for his appearances in film, television, and on the theatrical stage during a career that span seven decades. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and then went on to radio, working with the BBC Radio Drama Company. His first appearance in television came on the television movie "Tomorrow Mr. Tompion! And About Time Too!" in 1958. He would go on to appear in many British television series throughout his career such as "Three Golden Nobles", "The Splendid Spur", "Orlando", "Jackanory", "Z Cars", "Armchair Thriller", "A Brother's Tale", "Coronation Street", "Inspector Morse", "The Bill", and "Whitechapel". He made his first film appearance in 1965 in "Othello". He would go on to appear in such films as "Absolution" (1978), "Three Kinds of Heat" (1987), "The House of Mirth" (2000), and "Babel" (2006). He also made numerous appearances on the theatrical stage with his best known, playing Doctor Who in the production "Doctor Who and the Daleks in the Seven Keys to Doomsday in 1974. He passed away after taking ill while on vacation in Bulgaria.
