Larry Moody, 75, of Huntsville, passed away Monday, October 30 at Huntsville Hospital. Larry was born in Winston County, Alabama. He grew up and attended school in Pleasant Grove. At the age of 17 he entered the National Guard and at the age of 19 he enlisted in the Army. He was a medic in the Army for 6 years including a tour in Vietnam where he received a purple heart. He was employed by the Huntsville Utilites as a lineman for 30 years.

Larry, was a long time member of the Mastin Lake Road church of Christ where he served as deacon. He enjoyed camping with family and friends for over 30 years and was a member of the Alabama Wondering Stars camping club and camped in 40 states, including Alaska. He enjoyed many things including antique cars, bluegrass music, Hank Williams, Sr., Mickey Mantle, Atlanta Braves baseball, and collecting ball caps. He always had a story to tell to anyone who would listen and was willing to help anyone in need.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Moody and Millie Smith and his brother, Neal Moody. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, his three children, five grandchildren, Stepmother, five brothers and sisters, many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 2, from 6-8 PM at Valhalla Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Friday, November 3 at 11:00 AM with Scotty Sparks and Alvin Alston officiating. Interment to follow at Valhalla with Military honors.
