Charlotte Irene Cooper, 88, of South Edna, OK, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

She was born on December 20, 1928 in Edna, KS to Thomas Lloyd and Hattie Mae (Stoker) Lozier. Charlotte grew up in the Edna area where she attended school, graduating from Edna High School.

Charlotte worked at Lombe Drug Store, J.C. Penney's in Coffeyville and the Edna Post Office before getting married.

On February 12, 1950, she married the love of her life, Stanley Eugene Cooper in Edna, KS. Following their marriage they made their home south of Edna where she helped her husband on their farm where they raised their family. Her husband preceded her in death on April 28, 2017.

Charlotte was a member of the Elm Christian Church east of Edna. Charlotte was a true farm wife helping her husband on the farm in the fields and caring for the cattle they raised. She enjoyed gardening and sewing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her children and their families.

Surviving to honor her memory is her sons, David Cooper of Tulsa, OK, Ronald Cooper and wife, Carol of Oklahoma City, OK, Tom Cooper and wife, Marty of Neodesha, KS; daughter, Beth Rogers and husband, Terry of Dewey, OK; grandchildren, Britton Cooper, Sunshine Graham, Carrie Sellars and husband, Rusty, Mandy Smith, Lori Carnahan and husband, Craig, Lacy Moore and husband, Jeff, Randy Cooper and wife Lauren, Shelly Huffman and husband, Brock, Alisha Schuchman and husband, Michael, Rebecca Birt, Justin Rogers and wife, Elizabeth, Ashley Rogers and fiancé, Matt Woolfolk, Josh Cooper and wife, Brandi, Roxsanna Stephenson and husband, Jordan; nineteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mae Lozier; husband, Stanley Cooper; sons, Dennis Cooper and Richard Cooper; daughter, Diane Birt; grandchildren, Shawna Ranee Birt and James Lloyd Birt; great-granddaughter, Carley Grace Carnahan and sister, Berniece Pierce.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 3, 2017, at the Elm Christian Church, 4055 Lyon Road, Edna, KS with Pastor Allen Banzet officiating. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the North Edna Cemetery.

Friends may call on Thursday, November 2, 2017; at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials can be made to the Elm Christian Church or the Edna Volunteer Fire Department; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed c/o David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
