Dryden, Virginia, Danny Joe Gibson, 62 passed away Sunday, October 29 at Mountain View Hospital, Norton, VA after an extended illness. He had been a coal miner, and avid deer hunter and an Appalachia Bulldog supporter. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Margaret (Bishop) Gibson; daughter, Candace Bowman; nephews, Blake Gibson and Tyler Gibson.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Teresa Dorton Gibson; children, Brad (Nikesh Mellon, fiancé) Gibson, Kayla Gibson, Cody (Kelsey) Gibson; grandchildren, Kaylee, Austin, Brody, Sophie, Jaylin and Skylar; brothers, Kevin (Kita) Gibson, Mark (Rita) Gibson, Shane (Kelsa) Gibson, Brennon (Melissa) Gibson; sisters, Mitzi Gibson, Tracy (Billy) Barker; several nieces and nephews.
The Gibson family will receive friends on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roy A. Green Funeral Home, Appalachia, VA.
Memorial Services will be conducted at 8 p.m.
