In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Carey Lyle Crawford who died in 1960, son, David Lynn Crawford who died in 2002; sister, Elizabeth James; and brother, Ned Crawford. Johnnie was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and retired from Dayco Corporation after 28 years.
Johnnie is survived by a son, Gary Nile Crawford, of Kernersville; sister-in-law, Aulby Ferguson, of Waynesville; best friend and companion, Ann Medford; several nieces, nephews; and his many friends.
