Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Dr. Herb Wood officiating, under the direction of North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St.
Mrs. McCarty was born October 20, 1928, to George and Opal Meeks in Hamlin, Texas. She married James McCarty June 2, 1945 in Abilene, Texas. She was a homemaker until 1982. She then worked for Abilene Lumber, and In Town Properties before retiring in the 90's. She was a member of Southern Hills Baptist Church. She loved animals, reading, but above all, she loved being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
She is survived by her husband, James; one daughter, Janice Polnick and husband Jim of Clyde; three sons, Jerry McCarty and wife Gloria of Abilene, David McCarty and wife Karen of Clyde and Mark McCarty and wife Sandra of Euless, Texas. One sister, Jimmie Sue Hunter of Lancaster, Texas.
