HEREFORD - Vickie Sue Ford, 64, died Wednesday, March 14, 2007.

Celebration of life services will be at 10 a.m. today in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kyle Streun officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Lockney Cemetery in Lockney by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ford was born Nov. 6, 1942, in Sherman, the daughter of M.C. and Billie Cook. She married Charles "Jack" Ford on May 29, 1960, in Lubbock. She was a devoted loving wife and had an immeasurable love for her children and grandchildren that spilled over into her community as shown by her support and working with the American Cancer Society and the Kidney Foundation. Vickie was an active member of First Baptist Church in Hereford.

She was preceded in death by her father, M.C. Cook Jr.

Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kevin Mark Ford and wife Robin of Garden City, Kan., Wesley Dean Ford and Chuck Ford and wife Karen of Canyon; two brothers, David Cook of Floydada and Robert Cook of Houston; seven grandchildren, Shannon Ford and Chelsea Ford of Garden City, Clarissa Ford, Amanda Ford and Trevor Ford of Shreveport, La., and Ashlyn and Mattie Ford of Canyon; and her mother, Billie Cook of Lockney.

The family suggests memorials be to Samaritan Hospice of King's Manor Retirement System, 400 Ranger, Hereford, TX 79045; American Cancer Society, 3915 S. Bell St., Amarillo, TX 79109; or a favorite charity.
