Gordon Lee “Butch” Roberts, age 74, of Cynthiana, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014, at his home. Born in Pendleton County, Kentucky, on December 1, 1939, he was a son of the late Floyd Roberts and Marie Barnette Roberts Parsons. A retired General Motors employee, he was a member of the Elks Lodge, in Cynthiana.
He is survived by: seven children, Sandy Barker, of Falmouth, Kentucky, Gordon Roberts, Jr., of Cynthiana, Brad Roberts, of Cynthiana, Kathy Roberts, of Paris, Kentucky, 1SG Chris Roberts, of Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, Jennifer Roberts, of Cynthiana, and Tina King, of Cynthiana; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean Edwards, of Foster, Kentucky, and Mary Hogan, of Butler, Kentucky; two brothers, Earl Roberts, of California, and Donald Roberts, of London, Kentucky; and a host of extended family members and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, at Woodhead Funeral Home, in Falmouth. The visitation will be from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, preceding the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, in Falmouth. Memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
