Henry William Ahrens, Jr., was born on 14 January 1870, in rural Beaver Falls Township, Renville County, Minnesota, the fourth child of Henry and Caroline Wilhelmina Sophia “Minnie” Bobzin Ahrens. He attended country school in Renville County.

On 10 October 18895, in Redwood Falls, Henry married Anna Urilda Carruth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Carruth.

Henry and Anna lived in Redwood and Renville Counties prior to Henry’s death. They had seven children: Laura Belle who died at the age of 18, Harry Willard who died at the age of 15, Maude May who married Howard Smith, Stella Marie who married Vern Zumwinkle, Myrtle Irene who married Claude Clift, Evelyn Pearl who married Harold Becker, and Nellie Amanda who married Henry Amberg.

Henry William Ahrens, Jr., died on 25 October 1927, in Redwood County, Minnesota. He was survived by his wife and five daughters.

Henry was buried in the Redwood Falls City Cemetery, in Redwood County, Minnesota.
