Mr. Troy Edgar Seal, 82, of Mt. Airy passed away peacefully at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson on Monday, October 30, 2017. He was born in Surry County on December 19, 1934 to the late Sam Seal, Sr. and Ella Smith Seal. Troy is survived by his wife of 59 years, Faye Hiatt Seal of the home; two children, Lynn Seal Jones and Dwight Seal both of Mt. Airy; a grandson and light of his life, Andrew Joel Jones of Mt. Airy,and many special nieces and nephews; and many loved friends with whom he always enjoyed a joke. In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by a brother, William Wade Seal. Troy was a veteran of the U.S. Army. With an immeasurable love for the land and his farm, Troy owned Troy Seal Dairy Farm, Inc. and tirelessly worked as a dairy farmer all of his life. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Alex Martin officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Family Cemetery with Full Masonic Rites. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy where his body will remain until the time to be taken to the church to lie-in-state 30 minutes prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 314 S Franklin Rd., Mt. Airy, NC 27030, the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home, 945 Zephyr Rd., Dobson, NC 27017, or the Masonic Home for Children, 600 W. College St., Oxford, NC 27565.
