Fort Worth - George Robert "Bobby" Morton, 85, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.
Bobby started as a lieutenant for the school patrol at R. Vickery Elementary School. After leaving there he became an ambulance driver for a local funeral home. There he met some officers that encouraged him to become a Tarrant County Sheriff's Deputy and rose to the ranks of captain. After leaving the sheriff's office he opened a grocery and salvage store on Mansfield Hwy. In 1972 he met the love of his life, Linda Hall, and they married Sept. of 1983. They were partners from beginning to end until Linda passed away in 2011. Bobby became the owner and operator of Fast Cash Pawn on West Berry and spent 28 years in business. He was known as the "Loan-A- Ranger" and the pride of Ryan Place. Bobby was a 32nd degree Mason and a great friend. He loved and appreciated old country music and was affiliated with many country singers. Bobby was a strong and generous person with a great sense of humor.
Survivors: Niece, Donna Morton Carnall and husband, Wendell; son, Craig Bennett and wife, Connie and their children, Westin Bennett and wife, Sally and Allie Abbott and husband, David; son, Curtis Dantin and wife, Lauren and their two children; four great-grandchildren; and three nephews and one niece.
