Mr. George, born in Lee County, was the son of the late John C. Wells and Ruth Hobson Wells.
He was a truck driver for 50 years and loved his trucking buddies. He was well known for his sense of humor and was comical. His greatest love was his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Perkinson George; son, Kenneth W. George and wife Elva of Sanford; daughter, Angie Wood and husband Chris of Sanford; sisters, Linda Thomas and husband Ronnie of Broadway; Janice Johnson of Georgia; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
The family received friends 6-8 PM, Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at graveside at 11 AM, Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Buffalo Cemetery, Sanford with son Kenneth George presiding.
Burial was made in the cemetery.
