Joseph Anthony “Tony” Cissell, age 79 of Loretto, passed away Monday, October 30, 2017 at Cedars of Lebanon Nursing Home. Tony was born January 20, 1938 in Loretto. He worked at Marion County Industries and was a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Leo and Mary Zita Miles Cissell; one sister, Geneva Walker; two brothers, Bernard and Harold Cissell; one nephew, Leon Cissell, Jr. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Florence Sapp (Leslie) and Mary Jane Nugent (Ray) all of Loretto; five brothers, Donald Cissell (Norma Jean), Joe Cissell (Janet), Leon Cissell (Rose), Bob Cissell and Charles Cissell all of Loretto; one sister-in-law, Shirley Cissell of Louisville; a number of nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto. Rev. Bill Bowling will preside. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is 3-8 PM Thursday at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM by Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
