Marjorie Hansen was born October 23, 1922 in Kimballton, Iowa, the daughter of Jens M. and Botilda (Mortensen) Hansen.

She was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Kimballton and later confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Audubon, Iowa. Marjorie attended country school in Audubon County.

In 1939, along with her parents and sisters: Gladys, Doris, and Verla Mae, she moved to a farm north of Newell.

She worked at Broadlawns Hospital in Des Moines and the Newell Bakery.

On April 24, 1947, Marjorie married Elmer Jensen in Audubon. To this union, two sons were born, Larry and Ronald.

Marjorie and Elmer lived and farmed north of Newell for thirty years, prior to moving to Newell in 1978.

Marjorie was a member of the Nain Lutheran Church in Newell and also was a long-time member of the Newell-Coon Neighborhood Club, and the Danish Sisterhood.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crafts, making quilts, as well as doing word searches and number puzzles.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Larry (Donita) Jensen of Altoona, Iowa; Ronald (Phyllis) Jensen of Kansas City, Kansas; grandchildren: Cory Jensen, Casey Jensen, Alex (Megan) Jensen, Elizabeth (Davis) DeWitt, Kathryn Jensen; great grandchildren: Mila and Jay Jensen, Everett and Wyatt DeWitt; sister, Doris Clemens; nieces and nephews; extended family and friends.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; sisters: Gladys Poulsen, Leona Mendenhall, Verla Mae Hansen; daughter-in-law, Peggy Jensen; brothers-in-laws: Svend Poulsen, Earl Mendenhall, Jim Clemens; and niece, Elaine Luvass.
