Earl S. Bracey, Sr., of Greenville, passed away October 29, 2017 in Dillwyn. He was born February 25, 1927 in Chateauguay, New York. He was a World War II veteran and in 1947 joined the volunteer fire department it Simsbury Connecticut and later the Winsted, Connecticut and Dillwyn departments.On February 27, 1954 he married his wife of 64 years, Esther Passini Bracey In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his son, Earl "Sam" Bracey, Jr. (Debbie); daughter, Esther Marlana Angell (Eric); brother, Bob Bracey; sister, Beatrice Bracey; seven grandchildren, Jessica Nardine (Kenny), Teresa Cyr, Jean-Marie Witt, Jamie Chambers, Jeremy Bracey (Fawn), Shawn Angell and Mathieu Angell; nine great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild and other beloved family and friends. He was preceded in death by a son, Elliott Bracey.Funeral service at the Dillwyn Fire Department, Dillwyn Virginia, in Buckingham County. Interment will be in the Forest View Cemetery, Winsted, Connecticut. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dillwyn Volunteer Fire Department.
