Obituary for Betty Jane (Forrester) Walden
Betty Jane (Forrester) Walden, age 80, departed her earthly existence on October 28, 2017, to be with her Lord and beloved husband of 62 years, George Andrew (Dick) Walden. Betty was one of fourteen children of Charles and Bertha Forrester. Her surviving siblings are Rose Sisk of Kings Mountain, NC, Frank Forrester of Richman, IN, Peggy Edmonds, Natoma Bullington, Tom Forrester and Bill Forrester all living in Roane County, TN. Betty had two children, Pamela Ann (Walden) Law and Thomas Jeffery Walden; five grandchildren, Vernon Paul (PJ) Law II, Morgan Nicole Law, Angela Kristen Walden, Thomas Jeffery Walden II and Michael Walden and four great grandchildren.
Betty started working at the Burlington Hosiery Mill in Harriman when she was sixteen and was working there as a Quality Inspector when it closed. Subsequently, she worked at the Comfort Inn in Kingston until she retired. Betty loved cooking for her family and gardening. There was always a big family dinner on Sunday, flowers in the yard and a warmness within her that can never be replaced. She will forever be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. We love you Pinky, You will be missed. May God bless you and keep you forever in his loving embrace.
Funeral 2:00 pm Friday November 3, 2017 in the Kyker Chapel with Rev. Randy Griffis and Nicki Law officiating. Burial will follow at the Kingston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2pm at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston.
