She was born on September 26th 1923 in Lake Elmore, Vt., she was the daughter of the late Howard Frederick and Jennie Cora (Hastings) Surprise.
Norma graduated from Vergennes High School in 1942.
She married Melvin N. Raymond on June 29th 1946. He predeceased her on August 5th 2003.
She worked many years as a Service Clerk in the Meat Department at the Grand Union in Burlington, Vt.
She was a longtime member of the Burlington VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband; Melvin Raymond, she was predeceased by her parents; her father Howard Surprise on August 1st 1990 and her mother Jennie Surprise on February 18th 1983, four brothers; Howard Henry Surprise on December 25th 1928, Herbert Edward Surprise on April 20th 1993, Albert Eugene Surprise on November 21st 2007, and Harry Charles Surprise on January 26th 2017, and one sister; Hilda M. Surprise on June 7th 2012.
