Melissa Dawn Carter, age 42, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Carter; grandparents, Bob and Maude Carter and Imogene and Richard Burgin. She is survived by her son, Matthew Ryan Carter; sisters, Teresa Carter (Ray) Weatherholt and Debra Carter; brothers, John (Misty) Carter and Randy (Nicole) Carter; special friend, Jimmy Self; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday, October 29 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 30 at Bethel Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 1 – 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Westside Chapel Funeral Home for funeral expenses. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
