James Roger Nance, born March 30, 1931 to the late Jesse James and Pearl Mason (Basi) Nance in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. On Saturday, October 21, 2017 Mr. Nance departed this life in St. Louis, Missouri at Mercy Hospital at the age eighty-six years, six months and twenty-one days.

James served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a Seaman on the USS Deuel. He did iron work and was an avid gun collector that liked going to gun shows and cleaning his guns; he also enjoyed doing yard work and working in his garden.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Nance is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Nance; one son, Gordon James Nance and three brothers, Lloyd, Alvin and Pat Nance.

Survivors include two sons, Colon Nance of Piedmont, Missouri and Jimmy Nance of Cabin Creek, West Virginia; four sisters, Betty, Virgie, Cleo and Gladys; as well as many other relatives and friends who will mourn his passing.
