James Keith Coon Sr., 79, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at his residence.

James was born April 20, 1938 in St. Joseph to William Louis and Laura May (Walker) Coon.

On September 8, 1979 he married Louise Schimming in St. Joseph. He was a member of Soul’s Harbor Pentecostal Church. James had worked for All Star Wrestling as a set up guy. He enjoyed watching wrestling. He also enjoyed playing his guitar and singing.

Preceding him in death are his parents and siblings, Louis Coon Sr., Iris Coon, and Bonnie Walker-Mitchell.

Survivors include his wife Louise, of the home; 2 children, James Keith Coon Jr., of St. Joseph, and Tina Faye Coon, of Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home with Pastor JoAnn Springs officiating. Interment to follow in King Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home.
