MRS. SADIE ADAMS

Mrs. Sadie Adams, 82, 117 Dixon Ave., died Sunday evening in St. Anthony's Hospital, Rockford, following a short illness.
She was born Dec. 9, 1882, in Davis City, Decatur Co., Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Burkett) Nettz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William.
Mrs. Adams is survived by six sons, James F., Dixon, Robert, Omaha, Nebraska.; Leroy, Rockford, Kenneth and Harold Barnes, San Jose, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. Marion Shellhouse, Rockford, Arlene (Barnes)Guptill, Beloit, Wis., and Stella Wheelock, Shakopee, Minn.; 30 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Preston Funeral Home with the Rev. William Oaks, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Friends may call today and Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family will be present from 7 to 9 p.m. today and Wednesday.

I am unable to locate Stella/Estella Wheelock. Family obit's show she is in Minneapolis, Minnesota and others in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I also don't know who is Stella's father.

CONTINUED DEPENDENCY HEARING
W. G. Kent Appointed Probation Officer in Barnes Case.

Dependency proceedings over Harold and Arlene Barnes, aged 4 and 3, children of Mrs. Sadie Bell Adams, were taken up in county court this morning but because of the condition of the mother, were continued 30 days. W. G. Kent was appointed probation officer and the children were placed with their grandmother, Mrs. G. N. Barnes, pending settlement of case.

The hearing on the petition to have Arlene and Harold Barnes declared dependent, which has been set today, has been continued by County Judge Crabtree until January 20.
