Velma Lee Allen, 86, of Leopold, Missouri, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at her residence, surrounded by family.

She was born Feb, 16, 1931, in Cape Girardeau County to John W. and Carrie G. Schafer Huffman. She and Curtis Lynn Allen were united in marriage Sept. 30, 1949, and he preceded her in death Feb, 12, 2010.

Velma was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Barks Chapel General Baptist Church.

Survivors include her sons, Mark (Barbara) Allen, Pastor Joe (Cathy) Allen, Pastor Aaron (Connie) Allen and Pastor Elijah (Teresa) Allen, all of Leopold; one daughter, Janis (John) Hovis of Zalma, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren, with one on the way; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, two sisters, a son Timothy and one granddaughter Rachel.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Barks Chapel General Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Kempfer officiating. Burial will follow in the Laflin Cemetery near Laflin, Missouri.
