Daryl Parsons, 64, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Oro Valley, Ariz., on Oct. 9, 2017. The family will hold a private memorial service in the near future.

Daryl was born Jan. 15, 1953, to Lawrence and Elma Parsons in Bismarck. His childhood years were spent in the Devils Lake area, moving to Bismarck just prior to graduating from high school. Daryl attended Wahpeton State School of Science followed by the Brown Institute of Radio Technology in Minneapolis.

After a brief period of time as a radio announcer in Iron Mountain, Mich., Daryl moved to Tucson, Ariz. He spent 19 years there as a parts manager for Beaudry R.V. Center. Upon leaving Tucson, he held parts manager positions in Minneapolis, Atlanta and Denver. In 2009 Daryl made a career change, going to work for General Nutrition Center (GNC), holding manager positions in Fargo, Sacramento, Calif., and Oro Valley, Ariz. Daryl was a good manager and took great pride in running a good store.

In recent years, Daryl became an avid bicyclist and was planning a cross country bicycle trip after retirement. He loved the natural beauty of our country, especially the mountains and the high desert of the southwest.

Daryl is survived by one son, Eric (Heidi Minzner); his brothers, Raymond (Carol), Bismarck, Duane, Rochester, N.Y., and sister Lynda (Jack) Johnson, Mandan; two grandchildren, Andrew and Megan Parsons, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Daryl was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
