He was born on Monday May 8, 1939 in Waynesburg, Pa., to his parents, Clifton H. Lewis and Frances Bruce-Lewis
Clifton William served in the United States Navy and also the United States Marine Corps Reserves.
He retired after 31 years from the United States Army Corps of Engineers as a Lock and Dam Engineer.
Bill's passions in life included a love for cars and motorcycles, cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers, listening and singing to music, collecting model cars and keepsakes, gardening, going to the beach, taking long walks with his lovely wife Shirley, talking to friends and family, relaxing on his backyard swing, eating great food, and shopping at his favorite shops.
He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Mary Edna Lewis-Miller; and grandson, Marc Marshall.
Bill leaves to his cherish memory wife of 52 years, Shirley Ann Davis-Lewis; children: Patricia Lewis (McClellandtown, Pa.), Michael Lewis (Houston, Texas), Mark Lewis and wife Kelli (Masontown, Pa.), Christina Lewis-Cammack and husband David (Houston, Texas), Brian Lewis (McClellandtown, Pa.) and Lorrie Ruffin and husband Tim (Washington, Pa.); grandchildren: Katrina, Marqus, Michael, Johnathan, and Amira; great grandchild, Marissa; and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends and family will be received in LANTZ FUNERAL HOME INC., 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401 on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held in Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. James Thomas will be officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa., with Full Military Rites and Honors. Semper Fi!
