Age 70, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. She was born February 1, 1947 in Morrilton, AR, the daughter of Freedie H. and Margie (Treadway) Carey. On November 13, 1965 she married Roger Fletcher and he preceded her in death on March 24, 2006. She loved her family and enjoyed baking and cooking for them. She also liked fishing, painting and gardening. Joyce was a member of the New Life Bible Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughter, Genia (Daren) Richards; two sons, Roger (Kelly) Fletcher Jr. and Jeff (Tonya) Fletcher; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Jeffery, Joseph, Jessica, Jordan, Sidney and Abbey; three great grandchildren, Danielle, Dana and Willow; several nieces and nephews, a host of friends and her four legged children, Teddy and Rocky. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and one brother. The funeral service will be 11 am Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at New Life Bible Baptist Church, 1175 S Grove St, Ypsilanti, MI 48198 with Pastor Robert Mack officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 5-9 pm Monday and at the church from 10 until time of service Tuesday.
