ST. JOSEPH, Mo. — Pamela E (Olson) Clayton, 64, of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2017, at Mosaic Life Care.
Pam was born Dec. 23, 1952, to Donald and Mary (Thompson) Olson in Grand Island. She was a 1971 graduate of Aurora High School and earned an associate’s degree from Grand Island Business School.
She was a member of PEO, Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi.
In her career, she followed her passion of interior design, worked at The Colony House in St. Joseph, and co-founded Cherry Hill Interiors in Aurora. Later she joined the marketing department at the Better Business Bureau, where she served for 20 years.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Clayton was preceded in death by a brother, Ben Olson, and grand-nephew, Carson Neville.
Pam began her 14-year partnership with David Liebsack in 2003. She is survived by him, as well as her son, Patrick Clayton of New York, N.Y.; a sister, Carol (Ken) Vincik; brothers, John (Deb) Olson, Tom (Betty) Olson; a sister-in-law, Julie Olson; and very dear neighbors who became as close as family, Ryan and Ann Koch and their children, Elizabeth and Emerson, who called her “Pamma.”
Family visitation will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel in St. Joseph, Mo., followed by a memorial gathering at 2 p.m.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips United Methodist Church in Phillips.
