John Alderman was dearly loved and survived by his wife, Jean, his daughter, Virginia Kehm (Charlie), his grandchildren Kyle Ryczek (Bailey), Ashley Monteath (Christopher) and Rob Ryczek, and great-grandson, Elliot Ryczek. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Janet Lambert, his niece, Janee Bonner (Jo) and his nephew, Michael Lambert (Cathy). John is pre-deceased by his beloved son, Robert Alderman.
John graduated from the University of Florida in 1961 then served 20 years as an officer in the United States Army including 1 tour of duty in Korea and 2 tours in Vietnam. John attained the rank of major prior to his retirement in 1977. He pursued a 2nd career as a program manager for Harris Corporation Controls Division focusing on computer control systems for power generating companies in the US and several countries in Asia.
Upon retirement, John and Jean moved to New Port Richey to enjoy being close to their daughter and grandchildren making several memorable trips to national parks together. John also traveled extensively with Jean outside the country, enjoyed photography, and loved running and walking until the very last day of his life.
John was an active member of MOAA and his church and volunteered for many activities in both.
John glorified God in every activity of his life and was an example of faith and devotion to his family. He will be missed beyond the words that can be written here, but we know, beyond a doubt, that he is in the presence of God and held in the arms of his Savior eternally.
