Dwight E. Hunter, 61, of Conyers, Georgia made his transition on Sunday, October 15, 2017. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, March 3, 1956 to Frank E. Hunter and Jane Anna Cunningham-Hunter.

He attended Toledo Public Schools and graduated from Thomas A. DeVilbiss High School in 1974. He furthered his education at the University of Toledo graduating Spring 1979 with a Bachelor of Education degree.

After graduation in Toledo, his career began at the Catholic Club, YMCA, the former Maumee Youth Camp and was a Consultant for the Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority's Port Lawrence Multi-Purpose Center.

He moved to Atlanta, Georgia area in 1989. He was employed by the DeKalb County Recreation Department and worked in the capacity of Crew Leader and Program Director during his tenure at various recreation centers.

He retired from DeKalb County in 2010.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Jane Anna Hunter; brother, W. Frank Hunter; and sister, Ella R. Henderson. He leaves to mourn his passing sisters, Elaine and Diane Hunter of Toledo, OH; nieces, Denise Thomas-Campbell, Pamela Thomas, Allison D. Coleman, Dana E. Hunter, Leslie A. Faison, Breyan E. Hunter and Branda L. Hunter; and nephew, Brett R. Hunter; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, 640 Indiana Ave., Toledo, OH 43604. Wake Services at 10:00 a.m. and funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. John E. Roberts pastor, interment Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements by Dale-Riggs Funeral Home.
