Note: No burial record has been found for Jonathan, but he is most likely buried in the East Parish Burying Ground in Newton, where two of his brothers have extant gravestones.

Jonathan was the son of John Woodward and Rebecca Robbins of Newton, Mass. He m. (1) Newton 26 March 1712 (VR) Patience WARD who d. Newton 18 (or 15) Oct 1719. He m. (2) Newton 8 June 1720 (VR) Thankful MIRICK, b. Newton 24 April 1685, d. Newton 21 Feb 1743/4, the daughter of John Mirick and Elizabeth Trowbridge. Jonathan had three children with his first wife born 1713 to 1718, and two more with his second wife, born 1721 and 1726.
