He was born & reared in the neighborhood & home where he died. In January 1886 under the preaching of Rev. J. D. Ruder he with many others was converted & united with the Methodist Episcopal Church at a meeting held in the Johnson School house. And was one of the Charter members of the Trinity Class & of which class he remained a faithful & influential member until he was called to his reward.
His mother, four sisters, and two brothers preceded him to the great beyond.
He leaves to mourn their loss, an aged father, two sisters, Lucy Bradly & Laura McCracken, a brother, Jacob McCormick, and a host of relatives & friends.
Funeral services were held at the home with interment in the Laird Cemetery.
