Irene D. Brennan, 95, of Bennett Court, Hazleton, died Wednesday evening at The Laurels where she had been a guest. She was born in Hazleton, the daughter of the late Ben and Frances (Kowalski) Chaiko.
She was a former member of St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church.
Prior to retiring, she was employed in the local textile industry She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Brennan; a daughter, Joan Ferrare; sisters, Helen Gerlach, Dorothy Donnelly and Eleanor Poddo; and a brother Albert Chaiko.
Surviving are her two children, Paul Brennan and his wife, Carol, West Chester; Diane Bissol and her husband, James, a brother, Norbert Chaiko and his wife, Kathy; five grandchildren, Laura and Matthew Brennan, Dorene Pongrazzi, Sharon Stanakis and Morgan Bissol; four great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kyle Pongrazi, Taylor and Noah Stanakis and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Monday at 9 a.m. from the Frank J. Bonin Funeral Home Inc. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Parish.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery Friends and relatives may call on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
