Mrs. Peggy Louise Burns, age 70, of Sharon, Tenn., died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, Tenn.

Mrs. Burns was born July 19, 1934, in Caldwell, the daughter of Allison Bowen Brown and Mildred Lorene Clark Brown. Mrs. Burns had lived in Memphis, Paris, Ill. and Ruston, La. She was a member of the Baptist Temple Baptist Church, in Ruston, and was also a member of Cosmos Club and the New Comers Club. She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Burns married Finis H. Burns, in 1952, and he survives her, along with a daughter, Phyllis Hazlewood of Martin, Tenn.; two sons: Mark Burns of Ruston, La. and David Burns of Homer, Ill.; two sisters: Janice Fischvogt of Hot Springs, and Carolyn Warren of Stamps; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Finis Herbert Burns Jr., in 1953.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2004, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church, in Forrest City, with Rev. Dale Oden of Ruston, La. officiating. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery in Forrest City. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
