Debbie Rodgers, 56, passed away on August 31, 2012 in SSM St. Joseph Health Center.
Debbie was born on March 29, 1956 to Robert and Jeannie Hawkins in Charleston, Illinois.
She spent her youth in Oakland, Illinois growing up with her parents and two older brothers, Randy and Robin.
Debbie spent her career as a kind, loving fifth grade teacher in Pinckneyville, Illinois. Over her 30 year teaching career, she touched the lives of hundreds of students. As well as touching her students'
lives, she volunteered with charitable foundations raising funds for cancer research.
The most cherished moments in her life were spent being a loving wife and mother to three. She was an amazing kindred spirit with a contagious laugh and infectious personality. Debbie spent her life making sure everybody she cared for was happy and surrounded by love.
Debbie is survived by her parents; her husband Ron Rodgers of Carterville; Twin daughters; son; Brother, and numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Debbie was preceded in death by her brother Robin Hawkins.
There will be a private graveside service held for family and close friends. A public memorial service to celebrate Debbie's life will be held at Pinckneyville Junior High School on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 7:00 PM.
