Doris Abbitt- Walker, 99, of Ellettsville, passed Wednesday. October 25, 2017 at Stonebridge Health Campus. She was born May 23, 1918 in Greene County to Lebert and Alta Charlotte (Cooksey) Osborne. She attended Solsberry High School. She worked at Sarkas Tarzan and retired as a cook at Richland Bean-Blossom High School. She was a member or Zion Nazarene Church of Ellettsville and Eastern Star in Gosport and enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Charlotte (William) Pannell of Bedford, Ronald (Dixie) Abbitt of Gamiel, KY, and Jerry (Norma) Abbitt of Ellettsville, seven grandchildren, and several great and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Earl Abbitt and Carl Walker, children, LaVonne Abbitt and Sondra May, and siblings, Lowell “Pete” Osborne, Leland Osborne, John Osborne, and Rosemary Burcham.

Funeral services will be held 1pm, Monday, October 30, 2017 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Rev. Sarah Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellettsville.

Visitation will be from 12pm until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.
