Joy's Story
Joy Ruth White, 75, of Grandview, TN, passed away Oct. 24, 2017. She was born Aug. 19, 1942, in Crossville, the daughter of Jefferson D. and Ida M. Netherton Fox. She was retired after 45 years from Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill as a bookkeeper and attended Fellowship Christian Church in Grandview, TN.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald L. White of Grandview, TN; sons, Gary White and his wife Leslie of Crossville, Terry White and his wife Michelle of Spring City, TN, and Barry White and his wife Jenny of Crossville; brothers, J.D. Fox and his wife Doris of Mesa, AZ, James Fox and his wife Marie of Covington, GA, Thurman Fox and his wife Fleeta of Monterey, TN, Billy Winningham and his wife Clarice of Crossville, and Jimmy Winningham and his wife Sandy also of Crossville; sisters, Lillie D. Parsons and her husband Jimmy of Crossville and Ethel Barnes of Crossville; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Winningham; and sister, Linda Winningham Stafford.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at 1 p.m. from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service at Hood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Stebbins Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to The Ocular Melanoma Foundation at www.ocularmelanoma.org.
