Irene R. Lafferty, age 63 of Rhinelander, passed away August 29th, 2010, surrounded by family and friends at the AGI Crandon Nursing Home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Nashville ,WI on February 13th,1947 the daughter of the late Lyle and Betty (Campbell) Sheldon.
Irene was raised in Crandon for most of her life and was a nurturing person since the age of 6. She married Darrel Lafferty on September 15th,1962 in Kingsford, MI.
Irene and Darrel lived in Rhinelander for the past 22 years. Irene was Grandma, Auntie and Mom to many! She loved to cook for and plan partys, especially Karaoke ones .She was a homemaker most of her life and she enjoyed crafting, quilting, flower arranging, crocheting and singing Karaoke, but most of all she enjoyed rummaging with Darrel. She loved all her family with all her heart and also her two dogs "Sugar and Spice."
Irene had so many friends and family that she loved but two very special friends Sue Knuth and Dee Dee Vorisek spent many days and nights with Irene during her illness.
