Audrey Lee Armstrong, 85, of East Kingston passed away Friday April 15, 2016 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. She was a homemaker and dedicated member and former treasurer of Fairview Methodist Church in East Kingston.
She was born on October 4, 1930 at Scarbro to the late Coy Wilbur Holley, Sr. (1910-1986) and Edith "Margaret" Lunsford-Holley (1914-1971). She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hilton Beacher Armstrong (1929-Deceased) whom she married on January 19, 1950 in Boomer, Fayette County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Fayette County, WV, 1950, Page 3, Line 32, Application Date: January 13, 1950); two brothers, Jimmie Stanley Holley (1933-1997) and Coy Wilbur Holley, Jr. (1949-2011); a sister, Helen Holley-Tincher (Deceased); three sons, Billy Jay Armstrong (1959-1974), David Wayne Armstrong Sr. (1962-2015), and Hilton "Junior" Beacher Armstrong Jr. (Deceased); and a daughter Sharon Gail Armstrong (Deceased).
She is survived by one son, Herman Ray Armstrong (1955-2017) of Scarbro; five daughters, Patricia "Patti" Armstrong-Treadway and husband Lewis Treadway of East Kingston, Donna "Sue" Armstrong-Boone and husband Allen Boone of Craigsville, Neva Armstrong-Settle of Beckley, Fonda "Lynn" Armstrong-Simon and husband Tommy Simon of Zanesville, OH, and Brenda Armstrong-Baxter-Sumpter and husband Donnie Sumpter Sr. of Scarbro; eighteen grandchildren and thirty nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Monday April 18, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Fairview Methodist Church in East Kingston with Robby Shorter officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
