She was born on October 23, 1952, a day after her father's 29th birthday and she also shared her birthday with her brother, Tony, who is a year older. She had seven siblings and was especially close to her grandmother, Rose Haskins, who passed away in 1961.

She had her first daughter, Tonia Marie Tolman, on April 30, 1971. Tonia predeceased her in 1978. She had her second daughter, Michelle Lucas, on March 15, 1977. She had her son, who is also my fiance, Joshua Cushing on July 14, 1985. She was very close to her brother, Gary, who predeceased her in 2003.

She married her soulmate, James F. Cushing, on August 12, 1989. Their blended family includes Little Jimmy, Tonia, Paul, Michelle, Jessica, and Joshua. Her grandchildren are Shelby, Roderick, Gary Mike, Kelsey, Caitlin, Logan, and Abbie. She also leaves behind best friends Rosemary, David and Elaine. Rosemary has been her best friend since they were little.

I met Mom a little over a year ago and instantly loved her. She had her own special nickname for me and it stuck to the point that every time I came over I'd here "Cutie's here!" Her favorite color was purple, she loved bears to the point that everyone gave her bear related presents, and she was the absolute best cook.

I have never met a stronger person than her. She told me so much about her childhood and how different it was compared to today. One of my best memories of her was the night I brought my kitten home. She was the first kitten that I ever had to bottle feed and I couldn't get her to eat. It took Mom literally two seconds and Hazel drank her entire bottle. I already miss everything about her, especially her feistiness. She went through so much and I am so happy that she is no longer in pain.

I love you mom
