William (Bill) Moore, 87, a Port Orchard resident, died March 21, 2010, at Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, WA. He was born on Jan. 9th, 1923, in a teepee on the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation Reservation in Mayetta, KS. He married Edith A. Burnett at the Seattle Courthouse by the Justice of the Peace on Jan. 25th, 1949.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Navy as a commissaryman 1st class from 1942 to 1951. He retired as a helper mechanic from the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, WA in 1963. He managed the Kitsap Indian Center for 21 years. He enjoyed teaching Indian language, drumming with friends and dancing at PowWows with his family.
