In Hamden October 24, 2017 Leroy F. Martin 94, of Hamden. He was predeceased by his first wife Geraldine Mary Martin and his second wife Leah Martin. He is survived by sons Christopher Martin of Milford and Richard Martin of Tacoma, WA., 3 step daughters Nancy Smith, Joanne Rossi both of Margate, FL. and Shirley Pollard of Branford, a sister Marjorie Martin of Hamden, his grandchildren Dana, Alicia, Christopher, Michelle, Ryan, Gavin, Tommy and great grandchildren Elise, Karina and Russell. He was predeceased by a brother Walter Martin and sisters Harriet Krivit and Roberta Gauld. Mr. Martin was born in New Haven May 7, 1923 son of the late Stephen H. and Maude R. Hitchcock Martin. Leroy proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. After the war he became a licensed embalmer and worked for Monahan, Cox, Smith & Crimmons Funeral Home. He then spent the rest of his career with the U.S. Postal Service.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Sisk Brothers Funeral Home 3105 Whitney Ave. Hamden. Burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
