She worked as a nurse both privately and for Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL. After retiring she worked as a greeter for Walmart in both Illinois and California.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Gary Iams; siblings: Gladys, Hazel, Mabel & Sue, Charles, Margaret, Rennie & Paul; and great-granddaughter, Gabriella Farrell
She is survived by two sons, Jerry (Debi) Iams of Springfield and Larry (Janet) Iams of New Mexico; five grandchildren, Cassandra Iams of CA, Heather (Ian) Farrell of OH, Sharlene Benedict of NY, Kati (David) Carmody of CA, and Daniel Iams of Springfield; great grandchildren, Sullivan Farrell, Zachary Benedict, Rachel and Abigail Carmody; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held November 3, 2017 at Pleasant Plains Cemetery with Reverend Donald Pritchard officiating.
