MET AWFUL DEATH ON RAILROAD
DEAD MAN A WELL KNOWN PAINTER OF THIS PLACE
People of Jeannette were shocked on Wednesday morning when news was telephoned here from Greensburg that the body of Lester H. Goebel, of this place was lying at Coshey's morgue. Goebel left Jeannette on Tuesday evening to go to Pittsburgh. He was struck by engine No 352 near Sloan's crossing in West End on Wednesday morning. Mr. Goebel was one of the best known young men in Jeannette. He was a painter by trade and had served as assessor here. He was aged about 34 years and leaves a wife and two children. He resided on South Clay avenue, and his family has the heartfelt sympathy of everyone who knew them in their bereavement. Mr. Goebel was a member of the Maccabees and carried insurance in that order. The funeral takes place this afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Brush Creek cemetery.
