On Sunday, October 22, 2017, Lawrence J. Brennan, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his beloved family.

Born in St. Joseph, MO on December 6, 1934, he was the son of the late John & Elizabeth (Doran) Brennan.

He was raised by his mother on the family farm in Maryville, MO and loved to share his early year memories. As a young adult, he was a member of the Missouri National Guard where he was a member of President Truman's Honor Guard.

Larry pursued a career as a Spanish teacher for 32 years at Conard High School in West Hartford. Together with his wife, Christine, he helped lead the Intercambio student exchange program between West Hartford Schools and Spain.

Larry was a passionate baseball fan, coach and was a member and Past President of the World Series Club of Hartford County ( . In his free time he also enjoyed gardening, the Boston Red Sox, history, debating politics, delicious foods, but most importantly spending time with his grandchildren whom he adored. He loved spending time with his friends as part of a group they called, "The ROMEOS" (Retired Old Men Eating Out).

Left to honor and cherish his memory are his wife Christine (Suchecki) Brennan, his children Christopher J. Brennan of Newington, Colleen Brennan and her husband Jay Wamester of Hebron, Timothy Brennan and his wife Deborah of West Hartford, and his four grandchildren Jack & Madeline Brennan & Charles and Harrison Wamester.

He was predeceased by his siblings Colleen Brennan & Frank Morgan.

His life and funeral will be celebrated on Monday, October 30, at Duksa Family Funeral Homes at Newington Memorial, Newington, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Patrick & St. Anthony Church in Hartford.

Rites of Committal will follow the Mass at West Meadow Cemetery, Newington.
