William E. Smith, 87, of Oxford, Alabama, died on October 25, 20017 at NE Alabama Regional Medical Center. He graduated from Anniston High School. He served in the U.S. Army for six years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Smith; son, Wayne E. Smith; parents, William Early Smith and Ila (Nolen) Smith; and sister, Betty Wade. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, daughter, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.
