A native of Harford County, she was a 1980 graduate of North Harford High School. After graduation, Marcia went to work at several companies serving in various office administration roles for U. S. Insurance Group, Texas Instruments, and Rexnord. For the past 21 years, she served as accounts payable manager for The Mill of Bel Air.
Church was an important part of Marcia’s life. She was a lifetime member of Highland Presbyterian Church where she faithfully served as deacon and trustee. All who have ever had known Marcia loved her positive attitude, endearing personality, sense of humor, contagious laugh and her servant’s heart. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Marcia; she was known to follow through on every commitment.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her siblings - Carolyn B. Jones of Baltimore, MD; David W. Jones and his wife, Cindy; Susan J. Summerfield and her husband, Steven all of Pylesville, MD. Known to be the joy of her heart were her nieces and nephews - Ian W. Jones, Seth D. Jones, Lydia M. Jones, Sarah J. Summerfield, C. Rowan Jones and Scott R. Summerfield.
Visitation was Wednesday, October 25 from 3:00-5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at Highland Presbyterian Church, 701 Highland Road, Street, MD where the funeral service was be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Her pastor Reverend Raymond R. Meute, Jr. and former pastors Rev. John V. Carlson and Rev. Dr. William J. Netting co-officiated. Over 600 people attended the Wednesday viewing and the church was filled to capacity with extra seating for her funeral. The pastor stated this was the largest attendance ever for a viewing and funeral at Highland Church. This was a visible testimony of the impact Marcia had on so many lives.
Her pallbearers were Mark A. Alexander, David A Derickson, Henry T. Jones, Lowell H. McGibney, Keith T. Myers, and Kenneth A Myers, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were The Board of Trustees of Highland Presbyterian Church and her nieces and nephews.
Interment was in the adjoining church cemetery followed by a luncheon in Netting Fellowship Hall.
