NASH, Mr. John Morris - Age 31, departed this life Friday, February 5, 1999 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Thursday, February 11, 1999 from the Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, 2101 Lippincott Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11AM. Rev. Bridgette Black officiating, Rev. Braxton Burgess Pastor. Interment Flint Memorial Park, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Thursday. Mr. Nash now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed after 2PM today. Mr. John Morris Nash was born on March 10, 1967 in Flint, Michigan, the son of John Wesley and Dorothy (Morris) Nash. John was baptized on May 14, 1967 at Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church. He gave his life to Christ in January 1974. John was very active in the church where he sang in the choir, served as an usher, and attended Sunday School. John attended the Flint Community Schools, and graduated from Southwestern High School "Class of 1985". After completing high school, he attended Alabama A&M University for one year and later transferred to Mott Community College where he was enrolled for one year. In the Fall of 1987, John enlisted in the United States Navy. On December 25, 1988, John united in marriage with Cherice Hardy. From this union, Candace Sherice Nash was born in March 1991. Upon his honorable discharged from the Navy, John was employed in various occupations including McNally's Chevrolet-Buick Dealership where he was an Associate Service Consultant. At McNally's, he earned recognition for service excellence, customer satisfaction, and professionalism. Most recently, John was employed as a psychiatric aid/forensic officer with Huron Valley Center, State of Michigan Department of Community Health. John leaves to cherish his sweet memory; daughter, Candace Nash, Chicago, IL; parents, John and Dorothy Nash, Flint, MI; sister, Sarah Cathryn Nash, Avondale Estates, GA; uncle and aunts, William and Jewell Nash Parham, Millie Nash all of Flint and Martha Ann Nash, Waterloo, IA; Godmother, Margaret Davidson; very special friend and roommate, Vanessa Betts and her two children, Jalicia and Davidion all of Flint; stepdaughter, Tiffany Rene Hardy, Chicago, IL; cousins, Warren Nash, Jr., Esq., Washington D.C., Gail Currie and family, Nashville, TN, Prestine Massey, Detroit, MI, Preston Nash, Grand Rapids, MI, Nikki Parham, Phoenix, AZ, Gary Nash, Itta Bena, MS and Chauncy Nash, El Paso, TX; a host of other very dear cousins, friends and extended family members including the Quinn Chapel A.M.E.
