TROY - Timothy W. “Critter” HORTON, 63, died October 21, 2017 at home. Born and raised in Troy, he was the son of the late John P. HORTON, Sr. and the late Rita M. Horton and brother of the late Robert A. HORTON. A graduate of La Salle Institute and HVCC, he was employed for 31 years and retired from Niagara Mohawk Power Company. Tim was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, and a member of the Emerald Athletic Club and the Sons of the American Legion in Wynantskill. He was an avid Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees fan who also loved watching and playing golf and was a devoted father, grandfather, and companion and best friend to Becky HORTON. Survivors, in addition to Becky, include his children, Steven (Kelly) HORTON and Kaitlin HORTON; a grandson, Brody HORTON; a brother, John P. HORTON, Jr.; a sister-in-law, Mickie Horton; a nephew, Matthew (Jessica) HORTON; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave. at Parkview Court, Troy and at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Troy. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church.
